How we make money

ApexTruth Health earns revenue in four ways:

  • 1.Seller commissions. When you buy a product through ATH, the seller pays us a commission. It does not change the price you pay, and sellers set their own prices.
  • 2.Coach subscriptions. ATH Apex ($7.99/month) and ATH Sports ($19.99/month) are direct subscriptions. No third party involved. No data sold.
  • 3.ATH Labs. Lab panels with every reference range cited to named research. You pay for the panel and its interpretation. Nothing else.
  • 4.Advertising from verified products. Only products that pass our standards can advertise. Ads stay nonbiased and never buy editorial coverage. We do not accept advertising money from big brands or companies that do not meet our standards.

We do not sell reader data. We do not accept sponsored content. No brand has ever paid to appear in an ATH article or receive a favorable editorial position.

Editorial independence

Every article on ATH is written and edited independently of the marketplace. A product appearing in the marketplace does not earn its seller favorable editorial coverage. A product not in the marketplace is not excluded from editorial recommendation.

Editorial decisions are made solely on the strength of the evidence. The funding trail behind that evidence is named explicitly in every article where it is relevant.

No brand names appear in editorial content. Articles establish what to look for in a product. The marketplace is where products that meet that standard are listed. The two are separate.

How products get listed

Every product on ATH is reviewed before listing. We evaluate on five criteria: ingredient safety, third-party testing, GMP certification, label accuracy, and sourcing transparency. Products that do not meet our minimum standard are not listed.

We do not accept payment to list a product. A product can be rejected regardless of the seller's willingness to pay.

Full seller standards are available at Our Standards.

The ATH evidence system

Every article uses a five-level evidence rating:

Level 1

No research

No human studies exist. Traditional use only.

Level 2

Animal or in vitro only

Promising early data. Cannot be extrapolated to humans without qualification.

Level 3

Limited human studies

Small samples, short duration, or single studies.

Level 4

Multiple human studies

Some replication across independent research groups.

Level 5

Overwhelming evidence

Large RCTs, systematic reviews, independent replication across institutions.

Research status labels

Every article carries one of four research status labels:

Well established

Multiple independent replicated studies. Consistent findings across research groups.

Emerging evidence

Promising but limited studies. Results not yet replicated at scale.

Contested: follow the funding

Industry-funded studies diverge from independent research. We name both and name the funders.

Underfunded: needs research

Traditional use or preliminary evidence. No patent possible, so no commercial incentive to fund large studies.

Grant funding

ATH is pursuing NSF and NIH research grants to fund independent health research infrastructure. Any grant funding received will be disclosed on this page. Grant funding does not influence editorial coverage of any product, ingredient, or health claim. The application and award process for government grants is public record.

Corrections

When we get something wrong, we correct it and note the correction at the top of the article with a date. We do not quietly edit articles without disclosure. If you spot an error, email hello@apextruthhealth.com.
